Multi-disc brakes type ETM – ..6 are intended only for operation in oil. They are powered by 24 V DC (
12 V or 48 V  on special request.

LUBRICATION

Lubrication of multi-disc brakes is intended to reduce the wear of parts (mainly friction plates) and to dissipate the heat generated during operation. Multi-disc brakes should be lubricated with any
mineral oils with viscosities lower than 37 cSt. Depending on the linear speed of the brake “V” (measured on the outer diameter of the plates), it is recommended to use oils with viscosities:
• at linear speed V < 12 m/s – oils with a viscosity of max. 37 cSt
• at linear speed V >12 m/s – oils with a viscosity of ~ 20 cSt
Note! The oil viscosity is given at a temperature of 50°C [1 cSt = 1 mm2/s].
Brake lubrication methods depend primarily on the operating conditions.
