Lug Vulcanized Butterfly Valve

Lug Vulcanized Butterfly Valves are generally preferred because they are cheaper and lighter than other valve designs and require less support. The disc is placed in the middle of the pipe. A rod engages through the disc to an actuator outside the valve. Rotating the actuator rotates the disc parallel or perpendicular to the flow. Unlike the ball valve, the disc is always in the flow, thus causing a pressure drop even when open.
